"Sfera" is a japanese design company for who I worked in Kyoto while I was living in Japan. Between many projects developed, I designed a modular exhibition system with Japanese paper designed for the Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2009 and MAISON&OBJET 2010.
The main concept was to show abroad the fine japanese aesthetics using a traditional material with a simple but still modern and dynamic design. With different angular lines was possible to create a foldable plan of a entire sheet of paper that after folded could perfectly fit in rectangular shelves. The diversity of angles and paper positions create interesting patterns that take advantage of light and shadow effects.
